Subject to Cayman Islands Government approval, the Cayman Islands Interscholastic League is scheduled to be launched in September 2022. The League will include both public and private schools and will have separate indoor and beach volleyball seasons. Schools will compete in elimination rounds which will result in one school receiving the distinction of being named the national champion.
Officiating and Coaching needs for League:
- All tournaments during the indoor and beach volleyball season will require at minimum, a R1 referee. Some tournaments at the final stages of the season may also require an R2 referee and line judges.
- It is recommended that all schools’ teams have a full-time coach for the volleyball season. Where feasible, schools may also hire assistant coaches.
- Outside of the interscholastic season individual players may be permitted to pay for private coaching, to improve their volleyball skills during the off-season.Â
